About
‘Looking deeply’ means observing something or someone with so much concentration that the distinction between observer and observed disappears. The result is insight into the true nature of the object.

My training began with a study of human behavior. I was a weird, lonely, bullied kid with no friends and social anxiety that verged on agoraphobia. More than anything I wanted to learn to connect and have community. I started to watch people. I took notes. What made someone charismatic, likeable, intimidating, annoying, or a delight? Eventually my curiosity led me to actor training. What better place to deeply examine human behavior?
I’m trained in both the early work of Konstantin Stanislavsky and his later work through the lineage of his student Yegeny Vahktangov. It was through the Vahtanghov work that I came to understand that everything initiates in the body and if we can work in alignment with our physiology we will also be in alignment with impulse, drive, and the cutting edge of neuroscience.
Once I understood that the body was the source, I craved more embodiment and practice. I traveled to France to study Roy Hart voicework at the Centre Artistique where the extremes of my vocal and physical range taught me what I was capable of as an artist. I felt so powerful, but didn’t know how to sustain a practice back home in my New York City. So I sought out and certified in Fitzmaurice Voicework which gave me a means to maintain consistency through regular practice. I also draw on my background in Linklater, Rodenburg and Knight Thompson Speechwork.
A continual student myself, I study Alexander Technique for physical alignment and ease, which supports confidence, clarity, presence, listening, and aging well both mentally and physically.
My work with clients is, like all of the training that I have done, based in exploration. If you want to feel more comfortable speaking in front of people, more connected when addressing your team, partner or audience, or more truthful when speaking your monologue, we can work together to make that happen. The goal is within reach. No longer a weird kid, I am a confident adult with supportive community, connections, and a deep understanding of human behavior, because when you have good teachers and work hard at collaborating to learn from them, there is only success on the other side.
